There has been some controversy over the past week through Google’s decision to reconsider it’s 2004 statement that it will not allow gambling ads within the search engine.
Not only because of the socio-political variances in perceptions of gambling, but also because Google is the UK’s most used search engine. Do they really need an extra £100m a year that it could generate? Apparently so. Growth has been slow in 2008, and Google’s alleged ‘moral and social ethics code’ goes by the wayside during a credit crunch.
Still, not everyone is as upset about it as some nations would be of course, our Queeny was evidently having a right giggle when she visited their HQ last week.
Bless her cottons.
